Love this vet. I had a rescue with metastatic breast cancer. It's a male cat. This disease in male cats is usually fatal. I got him that way. We kept going after lump after lump. I still have Ophie and he's thriving. It's five years going on six. We are fingers crossed. His care for him has been nothing but the best with all his heart.

Dr. G at Animal Health Center (1676 1st Ave) saved my 9-year-old German Shepherd, Marley! She had a enormous growth on her belly that grew out of control. After wasting time and money elsewhere in NYC, Dr. G performed perfect surgery—Marley recovered fully and is healthier than ever! Joe M and Mike M are amazing too. Honest, skilled, affordable—no ripoffs here. Best vet for serious issues! Highly recommend!”

I have been bringing both my dogs and cats to Dr. G for over twenty years. I am honestly flabbergasted by the negative reviews (though they are very old/from years ago).

1. I always said Dr. G runs his business not for profit, but for the love of animals. I have tried other vets who upsold me on unnecessary tests and treatments. I've had other vets makes diagnoses that were flat out wrong (a heart tumor -nope, swallowed staples, nope -they were from spaying, one Dr. gave me an estimate for $100 that ballooned to $600 at payment). Dr G will help you if he can while other vets will outprice or outsource.

2. Dr. G has saved two of my animals' lives! Both of those times, he went above and beyond to do so. He took my ailing pup HOME with him for monitoring until a scheduled ultrasound the next day. He then performed surgery himself for the discovered blockage; my elderly dog got to enjoy another five years of life as a result!

Dr. G also saved my cat from euthanasia (the only option Bond Vet would give me aside from sending me to the hospital, which was not a financial option). Dr. G responded to a desperate email I sent from B.V. (on New Years Day) and called me immediately, telling me to bring the cat in first thing the next day. I did and B.V. was wrong in their prognosis. A simple enema and my cat lives! So I must disagree with naysayers who make serious claims. Dr. G and his staff are all that you could hope for in vet care!

Dr. G is (truly) a lifesaver. He has been a great vet to both of our cats and dog over the past few years. We also had an emergency with our dog last week and ran in without an appointment, and Dr. G dropped what he was doing to help us out.

We truly appreciate Dr. G and the Animal Health Center so much - thank you for all you do!

I want to thank Dr. Giangola for being so OUTSTANDING. He has personally responded to my calls and emails each and every time I needed his advice. He has guided me through some very difficult times and there have been several. His personal support and care for my dog is something that has helped her, something I have not found anywhere else.

I have referred the Animal Health Center to friends who are seeking a veterinarian who is easy to speak to and with years of wisdom and experience. Dr. Giangola was referred to me by a client of 20 years so that says much. I could not have gotten a better referral.

Dr. G is very careful and professional. He really cares about your baby. I was recommended by my friend who has over 20 years of pet experience. I just moved to Manhattan, and I'm so happy I met such a great vet. Three days after my pet received ear inflammation and skin irritation I saw a significant improvement. Prices are very reasonable and transparent.

The clinic is small but welcoming, and if you bring your pet to see Dr. G, you won't go anywhere else. Because I've had pets for 10 years and this is the best pet clinic in New York. Dr. G and his 2 assistants thank you for your care and treatment of my dog! Highly recommend!!!

 

Dr. G actually cares, he would even call to check in on my pupper. Unlike other vets I’ve been to, he doesn’t force unnecessary tests and is price conscious. I couldn’t recommend them enough!!

Dr G is excellent. Very practical. We have been going to him for 14 years. He has guided us through two dogs and a cat. these animals are the most important things in our lives, and I believe that animals are most important to him as well. Most recently our little chihuahua mix's face swelled up the size of a golf ball.

We were scared for Mr Peanut. We took him to Dr G and he kept him for the day. He had to remove one major tooth that was infected causing the swelling, and two others that were in danger. I left with peanut that afternoon and had some scripts to carry out. In two days the swelling was gone and Mr P was 200% happier.

We are lucky to have Dr G right up First ave.
